What if, even though you’re reading this
in your kitchen or bedroom, you’re away from home? What if you’re not supposed to be living in
this broken world? What if you’re just
making do until you can be home with God in heaven? What if you’re a refugee trying to return to
your native land?

The Kingdom of God is near! Today’s verse isn’t the only place Jesus
announces the proximity of God’s Kingdom.

It’s probably no mistake that the
two terms ‘Kingdom of God’ and ‘Kingdom of heaven’ are used interchangeably in
the Bible. Are you thinking, “Heaven is
a place we go when we die, right?” Yes
and no.

The Kingdom of heaven is anywhere God’s will is done on earth as
it is in heaven. Sound familiar? Yes.
And since Jesus was the only human to perfectly carry out God’s will on
this earth, he is our example of Kingdom living.
