Take My Life, Lord
Topics to Dig Into
You will be able to understanding my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
Ephesians 3:4-5 (NIV)
I left the meeting supercharged, floating on air, adrenaline surging. The cartoon light bulb over her head was almost visible as it lit up with the connection. Ah-ha! Everyone participating felt the energy. God had revealed Himself.
My Bible study friend had discovered the meaning of God’s perfect Lamb, sacrificed so she could live. It was all God’s work but what a privilege to lead the discussion that led to revelation! Right then and there I wanted more, more of those moments, more light bulbs flashing above heads.
God had used me and I loved being used.
My story is probably very similar to Frances Havergal’s in the late 1800’s. She lay sleepless all night after leading a family to Jesus, poetic couplets forming in her mind, each line a prayer to God:
Take my life and let it be consecrated to Thee
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee
Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my King
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold, not a might would I withhold
Take my intellect and use every power as You choose
Here am I, all of me, take my life, it’s all for Thee
Take my will and make it Thine, it shall be no longer mine
Take my heart, it is Thine own, it shall be Thy royal throne
Take my love, my Lord I pour at Your feet, it’s treasure store
Take myself and I will be ever, only, all for Thee
May this be my prayer: Here am I, all of me, take my life, it’s all for Thee.

Amen; I echo these very sentiments my friend. I’m so excited to learn of how your teaching ministry is “awakening” so many. What a wonderful blessing it is to see souls whom you know you shall see in eternity!
Amen, sister!
