Speechless

Psalm 37:7 (NIV) Be still (silent) before the Lord and wait
patiently for Him.

How often does the Bible tell us to
slow down and spend time with God?  This ‘be
still’ is particularly interesting because, in the original Hebrew, it means to
be so astonished that you can’t speak.  Awestruck.  Speechless.

Have you noticed the trees turning
colors?  My personal preference is early
fall, when one brilliant red tree stands out among a sea of green or a maple
with bright orange tips still has a green core.
My children know every beautiful tree along our usual routes.  I am definitely not speechless, instead
exclaiming ‘Look at that!’ or ‘How beautiful!’
But I am awestruck.  Sometimes it takes
my breath away.

May each beautiful tree be a
reminder of God’s incredible creativity and the many beautiful blessings He
bestows on us!
