Save Us!

Hosanna!

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!

Hosanna in the highest heaven!  Mark 11:9-10 (NIV)

Did you sing Hosanna on Sunday?  Did you know it means ‘save us’?

Did you sing sincerely, asking Jesus
to save you?

I
see the king of glory, coming on the clouds with fire
The
whole earth shakes. The whole earth shakes.

I
see His love and mercy washing over all our sin.
The
people sing. The people sing.

Hosanna,
Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

I changed the words in my mind
begging Jesus to save me – from my self-centeredness, my complacency, my
comfort, my unforgiveness…..  I imagined
His love and mercy washing over my sin.
I lay my life in His hands:

Heal
my heart and make it clean
Open
up my eyes to the things unseen
Show
me how to love like you have loved me

Break
my heart for what breaks yours
Everything
I am for your Kingdom’s cause
As
I go from nothing to Eternity.

Hosanna,
Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!

But my mood sank because my reality
doesn’t match the lyrics:

I
see a generation, rising up to take their place
With
selfless faith, with selfless faith.

I
see a near revival stirring as we pray and seek.
We’re
on our knees.  We’re on our knees.

Hosanna,
Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest!
I hope for revival.  I pray that our society will wake up and
change direction – love differently, live for others, discover humility, and
make His kingdom a reality.

I’m on my knees begging for
forgiveness and praising Jesus for His selfless love.  Will you join me?

I love this song and am so with you. I pray that God would bring revival in my own heart and in our nation and world.
