Deep Roots

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made
the Lord their hope and confidence.  They
are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the
water.  Such trees are not bothered by
the heat or worried by long months of draught.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
Jeremiah17:7-8 (NLT)

Being a gardener, I love this verse.
I can imagine the strong, healthy roots nourished by the river water. They
reach toward the river and not away. Can you imagine the healthy green leaves
and beautiful fruit?

We all place our hope and confidence
in something.

What do your roots hold on to? How
are they nourished? What fruit are you producing?

What great questions to ponder as we seek the face of our King. My roots cling to Jesus and I am nourished by the word of God and prayer. He is my living water. Thank you for this post. May we all continue to cling to Him.
