Recharged for Writing

Topics to Dig Into
Jesus said, “Come off by yourselves; let’s take a break and get a little rest.” For there was constant coming and going. They didn’t even have time to eat.
Mark 6:31 (MSG)
I apologize.
Without actually deciding to, or
announcing it, I took a break from blogging this summer. Some of you have
wondered if you’d been unsubscribed. I’m sorry. I should have announced my
sabbatical, but it happened by accident when I got caught up in the summer.

Rest? No.
Recharge? Definitely!
My daughter, who had been working
overseas for a year, spent several weeks at home before returning for another year. I enjoyed hanging out with her, eating healthy garden bounty, and editing her medical school essays.

I met God in the garden, shutting
out the world with earbuds and praying along to hours of praise music.

I traveled to a family wedding in Florida, played Boston tour guide for the honeymooners, spent time in ‘heaven’ at my cousin’s Upstate NY lake house, and cheered for my son at the men’s gymnastics championships in Indy.
I read like a fiend, exercised often,
hiked a few trails, and sermon sampled locally and online.

In short, I recharged. Now I’m ready to write again.
How did you take care of yourself this summer?
