A Birthday Gift

God’s love, though, is ever and always, eternally present to
all who fear Him.
Psalm 103:17 (MSG)

One man, one woman, and God delivered
a gift today.

In What We Talk About When We Talk About God, Rob Bell encouraged
readers to experience God’s presence every moment of every day, in the small
things of our lives and in the power of the universe. God is the source of ALL.
He is in all of it. His breath gives life to every created thing – not just once
a long, long time ago, or selectively here and there, but today at this very moment.
We just need eyes to see and, perhaps, a slower, wonder-filled pace.

God punctuated this message in the
first sentence of Suzie Larson’s Morning Blessing which says “May God’s very
personal love for you suddenly and absolutely overwhelm you.”

I love that! His love is personal –
for you and for me. Let it overwhelm you!

And she continues “May the reality
of His grace and kindness be completely tangible
to you. May you sense His goodness, see His kindness, and deeply feel His
presence with every step you take today (italics mine).”

Open your heart and eyes. His
presence is real. Sense it deeply.

Thank
you, God, for this beautiful birthday gift (yes, the 29th)!

Don’t
wait for your special, once-a-year day to know His personal love and presence
within you and all around you.

Let
His love suddenly and absolutely overwhelm you with every step you take today!

Praise
be to God!

P.S.
After writing today’s post, but before publishing, God sent this praise song
through a friend to continue His birthday blessings. We recently sang it during
worship and I felt then that the lyrics spoke my heart for God: You are my everything and I will adore you.
