You Might Not Believe This

dog hugEven youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like
eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.

You might not believe this.

Longtime readers of this blog know I don’t believe in coincidences.  I believe God is constantly guiding our steps with God-incidences.  Sometimes it’s an opportunity.  Sometimes it’s timely love and care.  Sometimes it’s a message.  He can’t force us to recognize His hand in our lives, but He never stops working.

For example…

I began writing this post last night, sharing a God-incidence from last weekend’s writers’ retreat.  It was about a very timely, very intentional hug when I didn’t even realize I desperately needed one.  I left the unfinished story to drive my son home from gym.

While I waited in the car, I longed for doggie love.  (Longtime readers also know how much I love dogs!  Other people’s dogs, that is.  Like grandchildren.  I want to love ‘em and give ‘em back.)  I know that one gym family brings their poodle puppy to gym pick up and that I could hold him if I went inside, but I was sleepy, feeling down and didn’t want to talk to anyone.

This morning, as I resumed my God-incidence post, God sent two more.
The first was a sweet, encouraging note from the ex-wife of a second cousin who I hear from perhaps once a year.  The second was a text from a friend asking if I could feed and water her very lovable dog this afternoon.  My friend has never asked before and confessed that she felt that she might be imposing on me beyond the terms of our friendship.

Tell me that’s not God!

He lifts me up on wings of eagles.  He gives me strength when I grow weary.   Praise God!

Do you have a God-incidence to share?

I’ve written about Isaiah 40:31 several times. God must think I need it. Check out how God spoke through this verse in 2013, 2015, and 2020!

So kind of the Lord to meet you in a very small, personal way. The picture makes me want to cry. 🙂
