Why Does Faith Matter?

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27 (NIV)

I pose the question again. What is faith and why does it matter?

Have you given these questions some thought? The answers are hard to articulate.

I’m preparing a confirmation lesson entitled What is Faith and Does It Matter Anyway. These kids don’t think faith matters. They don’t think they need God.

What do you say? Does faith matter? Why?

(Think about your own answer before reading mine…)

Among other things, faith gives me confident hope, peace, and purpose. My faith
reassures me that, without a doubt, God loves me and I can stand in His
presence because of Jesus’ sacrifice. I’m part of something bigger, awesome, and
holy. And that’s exciting! God has blessed me with unique gifts for a specific
role in His plan. And because His plan is perfect, I’m confident that good will
win even though I may be experiencing difficulties. I have a peaceful soul
because God is in control and I don’t have to shoulder that responsibility or
worry.

With faith, I lean on God. I rely on His promises, His presence, and His love. I am never alone or lost. He collects my tears of pain and launches a hallelujah
chorus over my joy. I am beloved.

This lesson, What is Faith and Does It Matter Anyway, goes right to the heart of a life with Jesus. It was challenging to put the feeling into words, but doing so has increased my awareness and gratitude.

Would you please share? Why does your faith matter?

I'm nothing without faith in Jesus. I have nothing if I don't have faith. I rely totally on God and His promises and constant attention to me. I can't glorify Him enough.

Oh and I don't use the Gmail account. Forgot the password. I use the yahoo.com

MY FAITH MATTERS TO ME, BECAUSE I KNOW THAT GOD IS FAITH, AND JUST BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE HIM, MAKES FAITH EVEN MORE WONDERFUL, AS IT GIVES ME HOPE! THE HOPE THAT I SHALL SEE HIM ONE DAY, AND LIVE WITH HIM IN ETERNITY!!!! ALLELUIA! THANK YOU, LORD! HE SAID IT, AND HE IS TRULY FAITHFUL! I BELIEVE IN HIM, AND HE GIVES ME THIS WONDERFUL PEACE THAT PASSES OUR HUMAN UNDERSTANDING!!!! ALLELUIA!!!
