Was It So Important?

Philippians 3:7-8 (NLT)
I once thought these things were valuable,
but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when
compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake
I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could
gain Christ and become one with him.

Loving God and serving
Him is not about doing more. It’s about
doing the right things.
Him is not about doing more. It’s about
doing the right things.
We will all stand before
God and review our lives. Take a moment
to review just the past few days. Would God
say ‘Well done’, you have blessed others with your time, talent or treasure? Did God interrupt your planned schedule with
an opportunity on His agenda? Were you
too busy? What seemed so important that,
in light of Christ’s love, was really rather meaningless?

Faith is not about doing
more. It’s about tuning in to what God
wants us to do. It’s about sacrificing
some of what we find important to make room for what He finds important.
