True and God Inspired?

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.
2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)

Did you know?

The Bible has 40 different authors who weren’t authors by trade. They held 20 different occupations including shepherd, fisherman, religious leader, doctor, prince, and king. Most of them never met because they lived in 10 different countries and spanned 1,500 years of history. Fifteen hundred years!

Why is this so fascinating?

Because the Bible tells one consistent story in which God reveals Himself and His love for us! Even with the diversity of writers and span of time, the Bible holds together remarkably well as one narrative.

I didn’t realize its cohesiveness until I first studied the entire Bible from beginning to end. By seeing the overarching story, my belief in its truth was strengthened and continues to grow as I learn more. Through various studies, I discovered that many Old Testament structures, events, images, and prophesies point to Jesus. In fact, through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled 332 Old Testament prophesies (The Bible Questions by Hal Seed).

God’s love story culminates in the Resurrection on which the entire Christian faith is founded. In theory, by suffering and dying on the cross, Jesus carried our burden and bought our freedom from sin. However, by defeating death and rising to life, Jesus made it True. The Resurrection validates every lesson and every moment of His life.

While these factoids don’t prove anything, they help solidify my belief that God is at work in the Bible. Its cohesiveness adds credibility. Yes, there are inconsistencies and parts I find disturbing, but I have found enough Truth to be convinced that the parts I don’t yet understand also play a role in God’s story.

Do you believe the Bible is true and God inspired?

I'm very excited for you your trip to Israel and look forward to reading your thoughts as you walk the Bible history with your own two feet!

Oh Yes! The Living and Active Word of God has gone deep into my bitter soul and irradiated the hate and replaced it with love.

While I never really doubted the Bible's truth, studying it as a whole affirmed and solidified my belief. It also showed me it's relevance for today. Bible study has been my path into deeper faith and relationship.
