Jesus’ favorite topic was the
Kingdom of God: what it’s like, how to get in and how to live there. Today’s parable
falls into the third category. It describes how we, as residents awaiting the King’s
return, should live followed by the rewards and consequences.

Jesus sets the stage.
He has gone away but will return to
rule as King. Until then, each servant is given an equal portion of His
treasure with clear instructions to invest this gift on His behalf. Some people
hate Jesus and actively work against His Kingship. When Jesus returns, each

God’s servants? Or one who doesn’t want Him as their King?
