Money Gone Wrong

Proverbs
21:21,26 (NLT) – Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find
life, righteousness, and honor.  Some
people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!

On the heels of Investment Advice, I was perusing the Proverbs for more financial advice.  The book of wisdom is full of life’s observations.  I share just a few today.

The Message says whoever goes
hunting for what is right and kind finds life itself – glorious life!  True?  I would add that such a person finds joy and
inner peace.  Doing the right thing,
especially against the flow of culture, always brings peace, self respect and
God’s blessing.

Then, there are some people who
always want what they don’t have while others give, give, give.  Which camp are you in?  The Message calls one group sinners and the
other godly.

Proverbs has much to say about
greed.  It robs you of life (1:19),
causes fighting (28:25) and brings grief to your entire family (15:27). Greedy people
try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty (28:22).  Do you know a greedy person?  Are these proverbs true?

None of us wants to think we’re
greedy but a self-check is always healthy.
Are you satisfied with what you have?
Have you ever compromised your principles to earn a buck?  When you donate to charity, do you worry
about having enough for yourself?
