Hard But True

You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy.  But I say, love your enemies!  Pray for those who persecute you!  In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.  For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.
Matthew 5:43-45 (NLT)

It’s hard to follow Jesus!  It’s not instinctive or logical and often just the opposite.  Jesus demands that we turn our thinking and behavior upside down.

Hard, but True.  True with a capital T.

Have you ever (with all the power you could muster through the Holy Spirit) responded to a hurtful situation with grace?  What happened?  How did you feel?  Didn’t it turn out better? Yes, His way is the better way.

‘Take the high road’ isn’t about superiority or pride.  It’s the High road, the narrow gate, the path less traveled, the eye of the needle.

And it is hard.
