Go For Gold

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of
witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us
down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with
endurance the race God has set before us.
Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

Have you seen what CrossFit athletes
can do?

I watched the CrossFit Games in July.
The amazing competitors push their bodies to the limit swimming, rowing, biking
and lifting, climbing ropes and walls, moving hundreds of  pounds of sand, and flipping ¼ ton ‘pigs’. After
3 days of competition the athletes are exhausted, yet they push on to the
finish with CrossFitters from around the world cheering them on.

The audience knows what the
competitors are experiencing because they too challenge themselves to be
better, stronger, and more fit. By enduring one grueling event after another,
overcoming failures and staying focused, the competitors inspire everyone
watching to push on, to keep trying, to reach their goal.

This scripture reminds me of the Games.
We have examples of great faith to inspire us. We must continue to run the race
God has set before us with endurance. Never quit. Push through setbacks. Stay
focused on the goal one task at a time. And encourage each other to the finish.

What has God set before you?

What’s the next step toward that
goal?

What’s holding you back?

Go for it! I’m cheering for you!
