Desires of the Heart

Matthew 6:19-21 (NLT) – Don’t store up treasures here on
earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in
and steal.  Store your treasures in
heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and
steal.  Wherever your treasure is, there
the desires of your heart will also be.

In your experience, does your
treasure follow the desires of your heart?
Or do the desires of your heart follow your treasure?

Can you change the desires of your
heart by changing how and where you invest?

For example, if you purposefully volunteered
weekly for several months at a shelter or program for addicts, would your heart
change?  If you donated a significant sum
of money to a specific cause or your church, would your interest in it increase?

Can you better align the desires of
your heart with God’s kingdom?  Should
you? (click to tweet)

Spend a few minutes to plant a quick Seed. Or stay longer and plant a whole garden.

Each post is a short scripture study that will grow as you let it take root in your thoughts. If you have time, dig into one area of interest and plant a whole garden.
