You only saw half of Ephesians 3:17
yesterday. The second half describes the
reward of trusting Jesus – deep roots of strength.

Every time you act out of trust in
God, a new little root branches out and takes hold of the ground. With each small step of faith, a secondary
root grows until you develop a thick tangled root system spreading out in many
directions. This root mass holds firm no
matter which way the wind blows.

root grows until you develop a thick tangled root system spreading out in many
directions. This root mass holds firm no
matter which way the wind blows.
Your primary root is your belief in
God or perhaps even the possibility that God exists and cares about you. A secondary root pushes into the dirt when
you use the G word in conversation and your friends don’t abandon you. Another small root branches out because you
follow a gut feeling and find that it was exactly the right move. Roots multiply each time you recognize a coincidence
as a God-incidence and realize He’s active in your life. Big strong roots grow when you let Him lead
you out of your comfort zone. The
network deepens and widens, holding firmly.

So when life brings a storm, your
roots are firmly grounded in God’s love.
Deep in your soul you know He cares personally for you. Jesus is by your side. He will not let you fall. Lean in and be strong.
