Romans 12:2 (NLT)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
In my last post, I described the Kingdom of God as a way of life in the here and now, not just our experience in the afterlife. Every time we pray ‘Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” we ask God to make His way known among us right now.
The Kingdom of God is far from worldly:
·
The world elevates the self. Jesus tells us to humbly serve others.

The survival of the fittest mentality conflicts with Jesus’ self-sacrificial love.

The world says we deserve a safe, comfortable life while Jesus guarantees suffering as we take up our cross.

The world preaches self-sufficiency. God tells us to depend on Him alone.

Are you a camel trying to shimmy your way through the eye of a needle? Are you pursuing the things of this world, but feeling stuck? Perhaps you need to rest in the arms of a God who loves you and can set you free. Flip your worldly thinking upside down and be transformed by Jesus.
Even the peace in God’s kingdom differs significantly that the peace we speak of.
