I missed it.
It’s my own fault.
The town’s Christmas parade assembles in the parking lot across the street from my home and marches down my street toward the town center. From my office I heard the band warming up and the fire engines signaling the start. My husband called out “Its parade time”, but I didn’t interrupt my thoughts for the short walk downstairs and out through the garage to stand in my driveway.
I’m regretting that choice as I scan Facebook posts showing my ‘kids’ (current and former confirmation students) in dance troupes, on floats, and in the band. My work could have waited for ten minutes! I missed an opportunity to show love and support.
I’m human. You’re human. We make mistakes. Sometimes we know the right thing to do, but we ignore the small voice nudging us toward the better choice. The struggle with sin is constant.
Regret is good, because regret admits the error and helps us choose differently next time. Grace is better, because grace helps us let go of regret and guilt. It reminds us that God understands our natural tendency to be self-centered and loves us anyway.

Oh wow, there are many regrets. I am so very thankful for the Grace of God. My post this week is about Grace also. Must be a theme from God. In these end times if we are walking around feeling guilty and condemned we won't be able to carry out the work God has for us. Thanks for your post.
