Access to Power

This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength. –Apostle Paul

1 Corinthians 1:25 (NLT)

Here’s another passage from the powerful book, Unstoppable, by Christine Caine. In her early 20’s, she was given an assignment to start a youth center of which she knew nothing:

“I saw only my limitations. This frightened me. But thanks to the heart changes growing inside me, I didn’t respond as I would have in the past. The old Christine would have quit before she started out of fear of failure and not being good enough. But the new  Christine was willing, in spite of her fear, to step out in faith. I was about to discover that it is only when we hit the limits of our own strength and resources that we learn to rely not on our own sufficiency, but on the all-sufficiency of Christ in us.”

Because she had seen a real and active God in her church community, she didn’t think to question or doubt the scriptures when they say “you don’t have because you don’t ask God” (James 4:2) and “the Lord is with you” (Joshua 1:9). Christine knew God’s Word, had Christ living in her, and allowed the Spirit to work through her. So she asked and assumed God was leading the project. She stepped out in faith without any of her own ability and watched as God unveiled resource after resource for the youth center.

Are you thinking that could never happen to you? Let me remind you (again): store God’s Word in your heart, lean hard on its truth, and claim His promises. Then watch Him provide.

If God has called you to it and you step out in faith, He will provide. (tweet
