Countdown to Cambodia #1

Mark 16:15 (NLT) And then He told them, “Go into all the
world and preach the Good News to everyone.

Many of you know my friend Donna and
I traveled to Cambodia 3 years ago.  We
worked with two Christian NGOs (non-government organizations) that address the
problem of human trafficking.  Well….

We’re going back in January and my
daughter Steph is joining us!

The smaller organization cares for
girls who have been, or are being, exploited.
They provide love, education, job training and fair wages so the girls
can establish a new life.  To protect the
organization and the girls, I’ll refer to them as WL in this public forum.  The two founders, Sherry and Debbie, are from
Missouri and Texas and have lived in Cambodia for almost 20 years.

The larger NGO is World Hope
International.  They also have a
temporary home for exploited and at-risk girls.
In addition, their Adelphe program aims to prevent trafficking by
keeping women and their children out of poverty.  My daughter and I will have the opportunity
to meet the Adelphe woman we sponsor, her daughters, and grandchildren.

Over the next few weeks, I will post
news about our trip preparations and ways you can help.  Your email subject line will differentiate scripture
and Cambodia blog posts so you can skip the trip posts if you’d like while
still preparing your hearts for Christmas.

Most of you are probably not called
to full-time mission work in a foreign country.
But these ladies have followed God’s call to help these girls.  What would you say to them?  What will you say to them?  We’ll be bringing your words with us as a
gift of encouragement so… What will you tell them?  More about that in a future post.

How would you encourage a full-time missionary?  (tweet this)

Each post is a short scripture study that will grow as you let it take root in your thoughts. If you have time, dig into one area of interest and plant a whole garden.
