God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone! We’re being shown how to turn our backs on a godless, indulgent life, and how to take on a God-filled, God-honoring life. This new life is starting right now.
Titus 2:11-12 (MSG)
I don’t often find myself in Titus.
I consulted the table of contents to find these three short chapters after 1 and
2 Timothy. This letter (aka Epistle) was written by Paul to Titus, one of his protégé’s
who was organizing the new believers on Crete.

Paul reminds Titus (and all of us) that God has gifted us with a personal, earthly
visit in order to offer salvation to everyone. Our Almighty God paid us a
visit. Our Holy God walked among us and taught us how to live. We live on a
visited planet! We’ve been offered a free pass!

Doesn’t this compel us to live holy lives, turning our backs on godless, indulgent
living?

Jesus taught us everything we need to know about right living. He spelled it out with
His life as told in the four Gospels. Jesus told us to remain faithful to His teachings, and by doing so, we’d know the truth that would set us free. (John 8:31-32)

Have you ever felt the freedom of living Jesus’ way?
When you help a stranger or show kindness to a homeless person, does your heart tell you Jesus’ teachings are right? When you lift others up, do you also feel lifted? Does your soul feel lighter when you let go of bitterness?
Are these hints of the Truth that sets us free?
If Jesus’ teachings are Truth, why do we so often seek truth elsewhere?

Cathy, Encouraging post. I feel joy and purpose when I am serving God. I love to help others and give God all the glory. When I am being selfish (more times than I would like to admit), I feel dead. Thank you for this.
There has to be a balance between self care (different from self-centered or selfish) and service. We do need to refill the tank. But my soul is filled by service.
