Some Encouragement

[Jesus speaking] “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations… Teach these new
disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am
with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20(NLT)

I’ve been focusing on Jesus’ own
words as a source
of Truth
. Some call them ‘red letter words’ because publishers sometimes
print Jesus’ quotations in red. The last several
Seeds of Scripture have highlighted some of Jesus’ surprisingly harsh stories
and instructions. Today we get a little encouragement.

I am with you always.

Are you familiar with these words? Throughout
the Old and New Testaments, the Bible says God will never forsake you. In
Matthew they are red letter words.

I am with you always.

Do you believe it?

Does your life demonstrate that you
believe it?

I was prompted to open Sarah Young’s
Jesus Calling today, a daily devotion
I haven’t read in more than a year. I know because I had to search to find my copy and the attached ribbon marks yesterday’s entry. “Coincidentally” these
are her words:

Your mind leaps from problem to problem to problem, tangling
your thoughts in anxious knots. When you think like that, you leave Me out of
your world-view and your mind becomes darkened. Though I yearn to help, I will
not violate your freedom. I stand silently in the background of your mind,
waiting for you to remember that I am with you.
When you turn from your problems to My Presence, your load
is immediately lighter. Circumstances may not have changed, but we carry your
burdens together.

Through good times and tough times,
make Jesus the center of your thoughts.

How can you remember to focus on
Jesus?

Wonderful post. I wake up and ask God what He has for his servant today. I don't get out of bed until I have put the full armor of God on. This helps me focus on Jesus.

You are an amazing example of servanthood. What a great habit to start every day. Give the day to Him. I'm not so disciplined – I usually start reading devotions and scripture over my tea.
