A New Thing (for me)… A Holy Week Video!

Jesus journey to the crossI’m being brave during this isolation.

Being apart during Holy Week makes me sad. There will be no Lenten breakfast on Saturday and services for Holy Week will all be online. But I’m making the most of it by trying something new – making videos. This is my first attempt but I hope to create several during Holy Week.

Let’s contemplate the journey to the cross in a new way this year. Please share with others during this most important week in our faith. I encourage you to talk about the messages with your family and friends or with me in the comments.

Jesus purposefully, willingly walked toward the cross. What did He teach as He headed toward Jerusalem? (tweet this)

Will you join me in this journey?

His journey reminds me of two things. God’s great love for us; and the importance of surrendering our all to God and following Christ’s example He left us during His earthly life. Are wiling to sacrifice our all to follow God? Sadly, I don’t know how I will react if that test ever comes. Would I sacrifice my life for Him? Gladly; if I was willing to give it up for this nation, surely I will for God. Will I give up, or share in, all the blessings in my life? For the most part yes. Will I give up my wife? Not in the sense that I would abandon her to the world, but God doesn’t ask us to do that. Will I give her to God’s care and loving? Absolutely. Among my greatest blessings is an answer to many years of prayer than came several years ago when she gave her life to Christ. Nothing I have, granted I don’t “have” my wife, is not from God (including my Diane). So would I give up everything I have to serve Him. Yes. I’m grateful each day He chooses not to test me as Job.
