Arm Yourself

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.  Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.  Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Ephesians 6:12-13 (NLT)

Do you feel helpless to make a difference?  Is the battle too hard?  The war too big?

Don’t become discouraged.  You contribute to the larger victory with every skirmish you win:  one girl rescued, one meal served, one child sponsored, one family housed.  You are one person who makes a difference by helping one person.

Together we are battling the Evil One, who wants us to  feel overwhelmed and give up.  But if we arm ourselves with every piece of God’s armor, He will protect us, equip us, and renew our spirits.

What is this armor?  What weapons do we have?

“Truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation are more than words.  Learn how to apply them.  You’ll need them throughout your life.  God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.  In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare.  Pray hard and long.  Pray for your brothers and sisters.  Keep your eyes open.  Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” Ephesians 6:14-18 (MSG)

With this I encourage you:  Don’t give up.  Continue to spread seeds of kindness every day because it matters.  You matter.  You are impacting the world.  And lift each other’s spirits by praying for those doing God’s work all over the world.
