A Great Nation

Proverbs 14:34 (NLT) – Godliness makes a nation great, but
sin is a disgrace to any people.

Today’s patriotic scripture from Biblegateway.com was written by King Solomon.  He was known for his
wisdom and the entire book of Proverbs is famous
for its nuggets of truth.

Please read our short verse again
thoughtfully.  What do you make of this
nugget?  What comes to mind when you read
it?  How does it make you feel and
why?  Is it true or off base?  Where does our country stand, great or
disgraced?

Timely comments as we approach Independence Day. It's important to remember who ultimately provides our freedom. In this way, we'll remain a great nation as long as we remember this and don't fall into traps of entitlement, laziness, greed, and other sins.

I agree Dawn. I think as we move away from God as a country we're heading in the wrong direction. Thanks for your comments.

Isn't it wonderful to live in a country where we can openly talk about our faith? Happy Independence Day!

Yes it is, Heidi! Let's not take that for granted.
