Cambodia – Your One Word

Habbakuk 2:2 (NLT) Then the Lord said to me “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.”

For a second day in a row, we have shared devotions with Sherry (co-founder/director), the WL staff and several young women.  These devotion times with the WL girls have been special.  I’ve been able to look them in the eye, and try to communicate with a smile all the love I feel for them.  Today we paired off and used one word to describe our partner, which for the most part, described external appearances.

But don’t we long for people to see what’s inside of us?

So we chose one word that we would want others to use in describing us.  One word to describe you.  Not what others say, but what you would like them to say.  Pause now and come up with your word….  One girl said “lovely”.  Another said “good person”.  Others were honest and kind.  These girls want to be valued.  And this is the work of WL.  Before these girls came they probably couldn’t imagine anyone calling them lovely or good.

How can your behavior be such that your word is clearly written in your life?  So consistent that others plainly see this message?  Incorporate your answer so completely that everyone receives the correct message.

Even more important still:  How does God see you?  What one word does God use to describe you? No matter what you think about yourself, God loved the world so much (American, Vietnamese, and Cambodian included), that He gave His Son….

You are loved.  Precious.  Cherished.  A treasure.  A child of God.  Let that sink in.  Absorb it.  Combine it with your personal word and make it clear to the world.
